A Word From Our Semi-Cured Gel Nail Community #2

Once again, Heyhae sun-cured gel nail brand is dedicated to showcasing the talented individuals of our semi-cured gel nail community! This week, our affiliates Shelly and Maxiel share their unique journey in how they discovered semi-cured gel nail strips, why they love using them, and how semi-cured gel nail strips allow them to express their creativity and individuality! Your journey in the nail community

“I started using semi-cured gel nails in December of 2022. It didn’t take long to find the nail community on Facebook and then Instagram. What I found were a lot of friendly and helpful people! I learned so many tips and tricks to help me apply and remove my strips better, sizing templates for various brands, instructions for how to measure your nails, advice about different products to use with your sets, etc, etc. I learned so much!

There are so many talented people in the nail community and I’m constantly blown away by the art people are creating using semi-cured gels! I love to see the different ways people wear the same sets, from differing nail shapes and lengths to using different top coats to adding embellishments. There’s so much creativity! And everyone is so kind and supportive of one another; the nail groups I’ve joined have quickly become my happy place on the internet!”

Your experience using semi-cured gel nail strips 

"I have always loved the look of manicured nails but dealing with the fumes from the polishes and removers became a problem. I have migraine disease and as it progressed to chronic, I had to give up on painting my nails. I never had much luck using press-ons or glue on nails either, so I’d resigned myself to naked nails when I spotted a display for Dashing Diva nail strips at a store. I had some struggles with them at first but as I found the nail community and started learning, I figured out what worked best for me with DD. Then I started branching out, trying other brands. Again, the community was a great help as others could share with me the quirks of each brand. As I got better at this, I started up an Instagram account to share my nails. These days I typically swap out sets about once a week and I rotate through a few favored brands (including Heyhae). In the grand scheme of things being able to do my nails is probably not that important, but it feels so good to be able to take back something I thought migraine had stolen from me!"

"I was really impressed the first time I tried Heyhae nail strips. They were so nice to work with – a perfect combination of stretchy and thick. I could get a great fit without worrying that I might tear the strip. I was also impressed by how quickly they cured – I do my nails in the evenings mostly so I do use a lamp with these. The shine was also really impressive; they looked great even without a top coat on! Those qualities have been consistent across every set I’ve worn since and I’ve never been disappointed in any of them. The Dew Drops are a really unique add on that I’ve enjoyed using too."

"It is so hard to choose!

I loved Hey, Hot Girl Walk? when I wore it. It’s such a vibrant, gorgeous color and it almost perfectly matched some tulips in my yard! Purple is my favorite color so Hey, 7 AM Tomorrow? immediately caught my eye. I did a mash up of that one with Hey, Text Me Back to match my Sherlockian literary society’s club colors. Hey, Be Ready By 11 turned out even more beautiful than I expected when I added a silver glitter top coat; the watercolor shades turned to jewel tones! I feel like each brand has their vibe and the vibe I get from Heyhae is fun! I love that!"

Your journey in the nail community

“My love for all things nails started during the pandemic (May 2021) when a Facebook ad targeted me and I got curious about semi-cured gel nail stickers that you peel and stick and place under the LED light and then cures hard like actual gel nails. I was a former chronic anxious nail biter and I would bite my nails to the nubs when anxiety strikes. I usually just leave them bare but I would get them done in the salon on special occasions and I noticed that prevented me from biting them when I have nail enhancements that make them look pretty. But, the moment they come off, I would bite them up to the nubs again. And as a mother of three young kids, I didn’t had the time nor budget to get my nails done in the salon every single time.  That’s when the ad about these semi-cured gel nails sucked me in. I tried Ohora first (the one in the ad) and I never looked back. That doesn’t go without saying that there was no learning curve. My first set only lasted three days. But I knew this is what I wanna do on my nails for a very long time. I joined a Facebook group about SCGs and learned tips and tricks on how to apply them properly and the rest was history. Both my very short nails and my nail strip collection grew and grew. I was able to kick my nail-biting habit. I also very quickly realized that there are a lot of other SCG companies out there and I was determined to try them all and see which ones work the best on my nail chemistry.”

Your experience using semi-cured gel nail strips 

“I started my nail Instagram page 7 months ago because I wanted a place to share all the different pictures and videos that I take of my nails every time I change a set.  I also ventured into nail art and use SCGs as a base of a lot of the nail art I apply on my nails. It has become my creative outlet and a hobby I actually love. I love the strength and durability SCGs give to my nails which has allowed them to grow longer. The easy removal is also one of my favorite parts of using gel nail strips.”

“One day, Heyhae followed me on IG and I was instantly curious about this new strip gel nail company. The moment they launched, I immediately went to their website and fell in love with the designs. But to be honest, I was still a bit skeptical about the “sun-cured” technology so I didn’t order right away. But the company reached out to me and sent me some sets to try out and the first time I applied my very first set (Hey, Let’s Be Friends), I was hooked. I love the design, I love the sizing because it works really well for my nails, I love how it cured hard in a very short time under my lamp, and I love the longevity. I also applied some of the sets to a couple of my friends and they loved how long they lasted. At that point, Heyhae jumped up my list as one of my top 5 favorite semi-cured gel brands.  The cutest packaging and the very clever names of the sets also don’t hurt.”

“I’ve loved all the designs that I’ve put on so far from the brand. But my top three favorites are “Hey, Wanna Brunch?”, “Hey, Be Ready By 11” and one that I haven’t had a chance to put on yet, “Hey, 7am Tomorrow?” Your girl loves purple so, I’m you know, I’m putting that on next.

So excited for new designs to come out!”
